Doncaster - Survivor Support Service volunteer

The role involves offering cancer survivors support, advice and information in their own homes, and for their family or carers using a basic questionnaire. This questionnaire will then be passed to our Macmillan team who will develop and offer a support package which could include helping someone to claim the benefits they are entitled to, or signposting to other kinds of support available through our partner organisations.

You need to be 18 years old or over to apply for this opportunity.

What we're looking for

  • Good communication skills
  • Good questioning and listening skills
  • Some knowledge of the UK benefits system
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to enter information accurately
  • Some knowledge of local third sector organisations (training given)
