Wards & Outpatient Clinics Volunteer

The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre provides free confidential information and support to people affected by cancer. We want to reach every person at St George’s Hospital diagnosed with cancer, and to be there for them at every stage of their cancer journey, no matter who they are, or what type of cancer they have. We need volunteers to help achieve this goal. You will support people affected by cancer on the wards or outpatient clinics. This will involve giving people the opportunity to talk about their experiences, and offering support

You need to be 18 years old or over to apply for this opportunity.


What we're looking for

  • A warm friendly manner, and reliable.
  • Be able to listen and respond sensitively to people
  • The ability to be non-judgmental and remain calm
  • An interest in cancer care and the services that Macmillan provides
