We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteers to create a team of Gardeners to maintain and reinvigorate garden areas within the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital.
The location of the role : Cancer Centre, Belfast City Hospital
Flexible role with anticipated commitment of 3-4 hours per week
What activities the volunteer will be involved in
- Gardening - general tidying up and sweeping of leaves
- To weed and clear raised planters and paths
- To fertilize and prune/cut back, plants/shrubs, where necessary.
- To turn over soil in areas where required
- To request plants and bulbs when seasonally required for planting.

- Some horticultural knowledge of planting and pruning
- Effective listening and communication skills.
- A helpful and caring attitude.
- Understanding the boundaries and limitations of the volunteer role.
- Discretion and sensitivity with an understanding of confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently with guidance and support
