Information and Support Outreach Volunteer (Head & Neck Buddy)

At Macmillan we give people with cancer everything we’ve got. We are looking for empathetic people with good listening skills who have a lived experience of Head and Neck Cancer themselves and feel like they can support others through their cancer experience as a Head and Neck Buddy. In this role you will represent Macmillan by visiting cancer patients at the Head & Neck clinic at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. Whilst there you will help patients by listening, providing emotional support and promoting the support services available to the patient and their families. There may also be an opportunity to visit Head and Neck patients on the Chemotherapy Unit to chat with and support them whilst they are receiving their treatment. By sharing your skills and time, you’ll use and develop your communication and customer service skills and meet new people as part of a friendly team that makes a difference.
