Macmillan is committed to working in partnership with people living with cancer, to ensure the needs and voices of people directly affected by cancer properly influence cancer services, support, policy, and decision making. This commitment extends to the way we work with members of the Cancer Voices Community. We want to ensure we are following your lead when it comes to the opportunities we offer.
From January, we are launching regular Cancer Voices Welcome Webinars. The webinars will take place every other month and will last approximately 30 minutes. They will be an opportunity for members to learn more about cancer voices and meet some of the Macmillan team.
Although the webinars have been designed to welcome newer members of the Cancer Voices Community, they are open to all members. We hope they will be a useful introduction (or re-introduction) to the importance of the Cancer Voices Community and the range of ways members can get involved with Macmillan’s work.
While we have designed January’s webinar, we would like cancer voices to help shape the remaining Welcome Webinars for 2024. We will be holding two sessions in February to hear what you would like to include and how you think we can best run future webinars. These sessions will take place online, over Zoom, on Tuesday 8th February, from 12pm to 1pm and on Thursday 13th February, from 6pm to 7pm.
How to apply: If you are an existing member of the Cancer Voices Community and you are interested in attending one of the planning sessions, please click 'apply' and complete the short application form. A member of the Lived Experience Team will be in touch.
