What will I be doing?
This role offers one to one advocacy support for those living with or supporting loved ones with cancer. Advocates are here to support, empower and listen to clients when they are in a time of need.
Location of the role
Remote working from home.
Time commitment required
Minimum of one day a week (Mon-Fri 9am till 5pm)
What activities will I be involved in?
One to one advocacy support, outreaches, admin support, team meeting and organisation events such as away days and AGM.
What will I gain from this opportunity?
Volunteers can develop a variety of skills and all will receive full training before starting the role. You will also have the opportunity to be a part of the ever growing team of other volunteers which can either develop into a professional role or other volunteering support.
Training required
Full training & equipment provided. There is flexibility within the training days however, typically the training manager asks for 2 days a week for 8 weeks till they can sign off any volunteer to be able to go solo. This can be catered to suit the volunteer and their needs.
Skills & experience required
This role requires a volunteer with exceptional communication and listening skills who are empathetic and passionate to support people. There is also a need for a good level of understanding of using IT software.
