Join us at our new Macmillan Information Hub and help us support a wide range of people from the local community who may be cancer patients, their friends and family or just generally interested.
What will you be doing?
- You will be helping to staff the new Macmillan Hub Cancer information point at Salisbury Hospital, alongside a full-time Cancer Support Worker
- Providing a welcoming environment and putting visitors at ease
- Offering a listening ear and informal support
- Signposting to the appropriate information and resources
- Displaying, organising, and re-ordering information resources
- The skills you need
- We’re looking for volunteers with great conversational & listening skills
- The ability to be empathetic and especially sensitive with cancer patients
- We are also looking for individuals who will take care with patient confidentiality and be sympathetic to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- We are looking for volunteers to cover a morning or afternoon shift of up to 3 hours on each day. Shifts will be available Monday to Friday.

- There will be a short two-part training course. The first part will be a general Induction to the Trust, followed by Macmillan Hub specific training
