Event Support Volunteer (Edinburgh Art Show - 28 November - 2 December 2024)

At Macmillan we give people with cancer everything we’ve got. Do you have enthusiasm for fundraising and work well in a team? Then we would love you to join us as an Event Support Volunteer and be a part of an amazing team on the day, and if you love the experience you might be inspired to join the team at other events in the future. By sharing your skills and time, you’ll have a rewarding and fun experience, helping us to deliver an excellent experience for event participants and meet new people as part of a friendly team that makes a difference in the community. Together, we can be right there for people with cancer.

The Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show is an annual event that showcases the best of Scottish art whilst raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. It is organised by an incredible volunteer committee who are now in their 22nd year of putting together this show. You will be volunteering to help the show run smoothly and there are varied and exciting roles available. Please note that the times indicated are the full shift times, but you can choose to volunteer for a half-shift - please let us know when you sign up.

Event set up - You will be assisting with artists dropping off their artworks to the venue, setting up the room for the show and assisting the curation team with hanging artworks.

Preview evening - You will be assisting with the preview evening which takes place from 6-8pm. This includes taking donations and providing tickets for the free prize draw as well as ensuring all guests are looked after and sold artwork is labeled.

Show open - Greeting and assisting guests during show opening times as they browse the artwork. Taking donations and providing tickets for the free prize draw.

Event take down - Taking down artworks and wrapping them, organising artworks that are to be collected.
