Event Support Volunteer (Great Birmingham Run and 10k - 4 May 2025)
An unmissable opportunity to cheer on our amazing runners as they take to the streets of Birmingham as part of the Midlands’ biggest running event. You’ll be creating an amazing atmosphere and showing your incredible support as Team Macmillan runners take on the 10k and half marathon routes around Birmingham’s city centre, raising vital funds to support people living with cancer.
What will you be doing?
Cheerpoint
- Join a friendly group of volunteers to encourage our runners to the finish line.
- We will provide everything you need to make some noise and paint the path green (Macmillan tabards, cowbells, clappers, pom poms etc.)
- Can’t do one of our shift times but would still like to volunteer, get in touch and we can help!
Your impact
- £45,000 raised in 2024.
- This could support our Cancer Information and Support team to run our Macmillan Support Line phone service for 1 week. In this time, they could deal with 2,035 calls and web enquiries from people who want questions answered, need practical or financial support.

Great Birmingham Run is a wheelchair accessible event but routes to the cheerpoint may be affected by road closures. Please contact us for further support.
