Event Support Volunteer (Leeds Marathon & Leeds Half Marathon - 11 May 2025)
The biggest event in Yorkshire of its kind needs a great cheerpoint to give our runners some encouragement as they complete their chosen challenge. It’ll be a day full of fun and northern hospitality as you don your green outfit and make some noise for Macmillan Cancer Support.
What will you be doing?
Cheerpoint
- Join a friendly group of volunteers to encourage our runners to the finish line.
- We will provide everything you need to make some noise and paint the path green (Macmillan tabards, cowbells, clappers, pom poms etc.)
- Can’t do one of our shift times but would still like to volunteer, get in touch and we can help!
Your impact
- £80,000 raised in 2024 by 175 runners.
- This could support our Cancer Information Nurse Specialists to run our Macmillan Support Line phone service for 1 week.

At Macmillan we give people with cancer everything we’ve got. Do you have enthusiasm for fundraising and work well in a team? Then we would love you to join us as an Event Support Volunteer and be a part of an amazing team on the day, and if you love the experience you might be inspired to join the team at other events in the future.
By sharing your skills and time, you’ll have a rewarding and fun experience, helping us to deliver an excellent experience for event participants and meet new people as part of a friendly team that makes a difference in the community. Together, we can be right there for people with cancer.
