Event Support Volunteer (Malvern Flower Show (9 - 12 May 2024))

At Macmillan we give people with cancer everything we’ve got. Do you have enthusiasm for fundraising and work well in a team? Then we would love you to join us as an Event Support Volunteer and be a part of an amazing team on the day, and if you love the experience you might be inspired to join the team at other events in the future. By sharing your skills and time, you’ll have a rewarding and fun experience, helping us to deliver an excellent experience for event participants and meet new people as part of a friendly team that makes a difference in the community. Together, we can be right there for people with cancer.

You're invited to join us by volunteering at the 2024 Malvern Flower Show. We are attending this event to increase awareness of gifts in wills and their importance to Macmillan, while also uncovering how the fair visitors feel about leaving a gift in their will to the charity through meaningful conversations. You'll be helping us engage with visitors through the day– you could be having conversations with event attendees about our legacy garden and the importance of gifts in wills to Macmillan, handing out free seed packets which spread the word about gifts in wills, and encouraging visitors to take part in our interactive activity on the day. You'll be fully briefed by the staff team working alongside you on the day, and a member of the Macmillan team will always be present on the stand to answer any questions. There are morning or afternoon shifts available, and as a thank you for volunteering you'll receive a free ticket to the flower show, for the remainder of the day.

Volunteer Briefing Sessions: in advance of the show, we are running 2 x 1 hour Volunteer Briefing sessions. Attending one of these sessions is mandatory for anyone attending the show as a volunteer. During these sessions, we will explain the purpose of our attendance at the Flower Show, and make sure you have all of the tools and information needed to have meaningful conversations on the day.

The Volunteer Briefing Sessions will run on:

• Wednesday the 1st of May, 12:30pm – 1:30pm

• Thursday the 2nd of May, 6pm – 7pm
