Opportunity image

Situated in the beautiful Kensington Gardens, our cheerpoints help to create a fun filled atmosphere at this well-known running event. By joining our fabulous volunteers, you will support our runners to complete their challenge and raise awareness of Macmillan services.

What will you be doing?

Cheerpoints

  • Join a friendly group of volunteers to encourage our runners to the finish line.
  • We will provide everything you need to make some noise and paint the path green (Macmillan tabards, cowbells, clappers, pom poms etc.)
  • Can’t do one of our shift times but would still like to volunteer, get in touch and we can help!

Event Village

  • Helping to distribute teas, coffees and snacks to our runners
  • Being the friendly face of Macmillan to supporters

Band

  • Are you in a band? Volunteer with us and perform alongside our cheerpoint to help turn the race into a festival atmosphere for all.
  • For this role, please contact the Volunteer Manager directly by clicking the “contact me” button or emailing teammacvols@macmillan.org.uk.

Your impact

  • £200,000 raised in 2024.
  • £188,934 could support our Cancer Information and Support Team to run our Macmillan Support Line phone service for 1 month.

A wonderful way to be “with like-minded and friendly people" - Royal Parks 2024

  • The band creates a really uplifting atmosphere.

Accessibility

  • Kensington Gardens is wheelchair accessible but the closest station (Lancaster Gate) is not due to having twenty steps between platform and exit.

At Macmillan we give people with cancer everything we’ve got. Do you have enthusiasm for fundraising and work well in a team? Then we would love you to join us as an Event Support Volunteer and be a part of an amazing team on the day, and if you love the experience you might be inspired to join the team at other events in the future.

By sharing your skills and time, you’ll have a rewarding and fun experience, helping us to deliver an excellent experience for event participants and meet new people as part of a friendly team that makes a difference in the community. Together, we can be right there for people with cancer.
