Event Support Volunteer (Southampton Marathon - 6 April 2025)

Outside the Southampton football stadium, you’ll find our group of friendly, green team volunteers cheering on our wonderful runners. A smaller cheerpoint and a great one to join to get to know a few people or as your first volunteering opportunity. Sign up and give our runners a huge cheer as they race towards their marathon finish line.

What will you be doing?

Cheerpoint

  • Join a friendly group of volunteers to encourage our runners to the finish line.
  • We will provide everything you need to make some noise and paint the path green (Macmillan tabards, cowbells, clappers, pom poms etc.)
  • Can’t do one of our shift times but would still like to volunteer, get in touch and we can help!

Your impact

  • £40,000 raised in 2024.
  • This could support our Cancer Information and Support team to run our Macmillan Support Line phone service for 1 week. In this time, they could deal with 2,035 calls and web enquiries from people who want questions answered, need practical or financial support.

Accessibility

The majority of the route is accessible to wheelchair users using footpaths; however, we do not currently have specific accessibility information for this cheerpoint location. We endeavour to accommodate support needs so please contact us for further support.
