Event Support Volunteer (Yorkshire Dales Mighty Hike - 29 June 2024)

At Macmillan we give people with cancer everything we’ve got. Do you have enthusiasm for fundraising and work well in a team? Then we would love you to join our team as an Event Support volunteer and help support everything from marathons to festivals and supermarket collections to black tie events.

By sharing your skills and time, you’ll have a rewarding and fun experience, helping us to deliver an excellent experience for event participants and meet new people as part of a friendly team that makes a difference in the community. Together, we can be right there for people with cancer.

Join us on Saturday 29 June and support thousands of hikers taking on the Yorkshire Dales Mighty Hike in the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park. You’ll be helping out at either our full or half marathon finish village as you help celebrate our fantastic hikers.

There’s plenty to get involved in with this role, and you’ll be a key part of helping hikers celebrate their amazing achievement at the end of their hike. You could be capturing photo memories for participants at our finisher wall, selling our participants a memento from our pop-up shop, or even congratulating our finishers across the line with a medal and glass of fizz.

Volunteering at a Mighty Hike really is one of the most rewarding experiences; sharing the sense of pride with everyone at the events, enjoying the brilliant atmosphere and feeling united by knowing that you are a key part in helping us to raise as much money for people living with cancer.
